FIFA 2009 Confederations Cup Recap and Video Highlights: Brazil edges Egypt on Kaka goal
Brazil beats Egypt 4-3 on Group Stage of Confederations Cup – Video Highlights
Brazil looked to be in control against Egypt after taking a 3-1 lead in the 1st half but 2 quick 2nd half goals made it interesting. Kaka had 2 goals in the match, the first in the 5th minute to open the scoring, and then a penalty kick in the 88th minute that was the gamewinner. The other goals for Brazil came from Fabiano in the 1th minute and Juan in the 37th minute. After Brazil’s halftime lead, Egypt responded with two goals in two minutes, one from Mohamed Shawky and the other from Mohamed Zidan. It was Zidan’s 2nd goal as his first was in the 8th minute of the first half. A draw for the Egypt would have put them in great shape to earn a semifinal birth but now they will need at least a draw or win against the United States and Italy to have a realistic chance to advance.
