European Preason Friendlies Recap and Video Highlights: Manchester United beats Hangzhou Greentown 8-2, Liverpool defeats Singapore 5-0

Britain Soccer Premier LeagueLiverpool and Manchester United continued their tours of Asia with friendly matches on Sunday. Man U played Chinese Super League side Hangzhou Greentown while Liverpool took on the Singapore National Team. Here’s a recap of both matches along with video highlights.

Manchester United beats Hangzhou Greentown 8-2 – Video HighlightsMan U easily defeated Hangzhou Greentown 8-2 in their last game in Asia during their preseason. Michael Owen started the scoring off with a 24th minute goal, then Berbatov scored in the 34th minute to quickly make it 2-0. Only a minute later Zoran Tosic scored to make it 3-0 after only 35 minutes of play. Owen added one more before halftime in the 40th minute and the match was clearly over as it was 4-0 after 45 minutes. The 2nd half was more of the same as Man U dominated the match, scoring in the 50th minute with a goal from Nani. Ryan Giggs scored a pair of goals next, one in the 62nd minute and another in the 71st minute to make it 7-0. Finally in the 78th minute the Chinese side scored one with a goal from Wang Hangyou and another by Erivaldo Valdo in the 90th minute. Giggs ended up with a hat trick as he scored his last in between those two, in the 89th minute. Overall it was a dominating performance as the Chinese side was overmatched from the start.

Liverpool defeats Singapore 5-0 – Video HighlightsLiverpool cruised to another preseason victory as they won 5-0 against Singapore on Sunday. Andrei Voronin started the scoring in the 45th minute followed by a Riera goal in the 54th minute to make it 2-0. Late in the 2nd half, Kristian Nemeth scored 2 goals, one in the 73rd minute and the last in the 83rd minute. Fernando Torres had the other goal in the 80th minute as it ended at 5-0. Singapore was not able to keep up with Liverpool and didn’t appear to have much of a chance from the start.
