Real Madrid opened their preseason with a match against Irish Premier Division club Shamrock Rovers. It was the first match with Cristiano Ronaldo who broke the tranfer record leaving Manchester United. Here’s a recap of the match.

Real Madrid struggled in their first preseason match as Cristiano Ronaldo played his first game for the Spanish club. The match was scoreless until the very end when Karim Benzema scored the game winner in the 87th minute. Benzema came closer earlier in the second half as he hit the post. Ronaldo had two free kicks but struggled as one hit the wall and the other as well wide. Real Madrid continues their preseason with a match against Saudi Arabian club Al-Itthiad on July 26 and Ecuadorian club LDU Quito on July 28.
