Aston Villa Edges Juventus 0-0 (4-3 on penalties) – Video Highlights
Aston Villa outlasted Juventus after it had to go to penalties to win the 2009 Peace Cup. Neither team was able to score in regulation time or in extra time. American goalkeeper Brad Guzan played a fantastic match and made some key saves as it would end up going to penalty kicks. The penalties started off well for Villa as Guzan made a save in the first one but Juventus fought back to even it up at 3-3. With it tied going into the 5th round both goalkeepers (Buffon and Guzan) made saves as it would be extended into sudden death. Del Piero stepped up for Juventus but his shot was blocked by Guzan as he tried to fake and shot down the middle. Carlos Cuellar stepped up and converted the penalty for Villa as the pressure was back on Juventus. Their last chance to remain in the match but couldn’t convert and Villa were crowned 2009 Peace Cup Champions.
