English Premier League: ESPN reaches agreement with Fox Soccer Channel for USA TV Rights
The speculation and rumors over whether ESPN would get TV rights for the English Premier League in the United States is over as they have reached an agreement with Fox Soccer Channel. FSC owns the rights and is sub-licensing certain matches to ESPN to broadcast (usually 7:45 AM EST Saturday and Monday 3:00 PM EST matches). The rights for these matches were recently with Setanta Sports but the opportunity arose for ESPN to take their place and they jumped at the chance. The move will help boost ESPN’s soccer programming after they recently lost UEFA Champions League TV rights in the USA. Here’s a full schedule of the upcoming matches to be aired by ESPN.Sat. 7:40 a.m. Chelsea vs. Hull City
