English Premier League Recap – Week 1 – Saturday August 15

It was a full set of matches in the English Premier League as Arsenal dominated Everton, Man City won on the road, Chelsea edgesd Hull City, and much more. The marquee match of Arsenal v Everton was a blowout as the Gunners dominated. It was a great performance for Arsenal but probably more a sign of Everton’s poor form than anything. One trend on Saturday was the road teams winning.

Wigan, Fulham, Man City, West Ham, and Arsenal all won on the road while Chelsea and Stoke were the only home teams to win. There were also no draws in Saturday’s matches and both newly promoted teams (Burnley and Wolverhampton) lost. Overall, it’s still very early and not much can’t be drawn from today’s matches. For Hull City, American Jozy Altidore was not available as he’s still getting his work permit settled was still in the United States.
