Manchester United traveled to take on Spanish club Valencia on Wednesday as the two teams are just a week or two away from the start of their domestic leagues. Here’s a recap of the friendly match along with video highlights.

The two teams met at Old Trafford as Michael Owen started up top with Wayne Rooney. The first half saw each team get some chances but unable to convert. Valencia hit the post while Owen had the best chance for Man U. It was 0-0 at halftime with both teams making significant changes in the 2nd half.
Man United picked up their play in the second half as Wayne Rooney scored in the 52nd minute and Tom Cleverly doubled the lead in the 73rd minute. Rooney’s goal came off a cross sent in the box as he headed it past the keeper. The rest of the half saw both teams with some chances but neither scored and Manchester United won 2-0 in their last preseason friendly before starting the 2009-10 Premier League season.
