Italian Serie A Recap and Video Highlights: Inter draws with Bari 1-1, and more
The Italian Serie A began its 2009-10 season this weekend with a full set of matches. Defending Serie A champions Internazionale opened their season against Bari, Juventus plays Chievo Verona and six other matches. Italian Serie Recap – Sunday August 23, 2009
Defending league title holders Inter struggled in their opening match against Bari as they could only manage a 1-1 draw. Samuel Eto’o, who transfered from FC Barcelona, scored in his opening match with a converted penalty kick. Inter appeared to be on their way to a win but conceded a second half goal to Bari to make it a 1-1 draw. Sampdoria was the only road team to get a win while there were three draws on Sunday. Genoa defeated Roma at home in a 3-2 match while newly promoted sides Livorno and Parma each got draws. Juventus started their season off with a victory with a 1-0 victory at home against Chievo. Overall, it’s only the first week and not known how each team will do this season.
