Major League Soccer Week 25 – Recap – Wizards, Rapids both win
It was a smaller weekend of matches in Major League Soccer as there was World Cup Qualifying and most teams had byes. There were three matches this weekend, all on Saturday, which included New England v Kansas City, DC v Toronto, and Colorado v Toronto.
Here’s a full recap of all the matches.
Recap
Even though it was a light schedule, a few teams got big wins while DC United and FC Dallas played to a 2-2 draw. The best performance was from the Kansas City Wizards who needed a win after struggling throughout the last few months. Two goals from Josh Wolff led the way with two goals while Claudio Lopez and an own goal from Jay Heaps was the difference.
The Wizards stil have two games in hand on most clubs and with a few wins would jump right back in the playoff race. For Colorado, they got another win at home as Conor Casey scored his league leading 12th goal of the season. The Rapids defeated Toronto FC with the Casey goal as they are now 3rd in the Western Conference standings.
Overall, the standings haven’t changed much but the schedule resumes with a full set of matches next weekend.
