Sampdoria edges Inter Milan 1-0, Hamburg beats Bayern Munich 1-0, Lyon beats Toulouse 2-1 – Recap – 26 September 2009

There were several interesting matches in the top European leagues on Saturday and a few upsets. In the Italian Serie A, Sampdoria was able to defeat Inter Milan (Internazionale). In Germany, Hamburg beat Bayern Munich 1-0 in the Bundesliga and Lyon lost at home to Toulouse in the French Ligue 1.

Sampdoria edges Inter Milan (Internazionale) 1-0
Inter Milan struggled to convert chances and lost to Sampdoria 1-0 on Saturday in the Serie A. The goal came from Giampaolo Pazzini in the 72nd minute for Sampdoria. Inter dominated possession but still couldn’t find the back of the net as Sampdoria is now top of the Serie A table with 15 points and a 5-0-1 record. Inter is 4-1-1 and 2nd with 13 points.
Hamburg SV beats Bayern Munich 1-0
Mladen Petric scored a 72nd minute goal for Hamburg SV as they defeated Bayern Munich 1-0 in the Bundesliga on Saturday. With the win, Hamburg is not top of the league table while Bayern has dropped to 6th with 11 points.
Lyon beats Toulouse 2-1
Lyon recovered from an early goal by Toulouse to win 2-1 at home on Saturday in the French Ligue 1. Toulouse grabbed the early lead with a 9th minute goal from Moussa Sissoko. After the early goal, Lyon took control of the match and would score two second half goals to get the win. The goals were from Yannis Tafer in the 52nd minute and Bafetimbi Gomis in the 71st minute. With the win, Lyon is now top of the league table.
