AC Milan beats Chievo Verona 2-1 – Video Highlights
AC Milan started out slow as Chievo Verona took an early 1-0 lead. Giampiero Pinzi of Chievo scored in the 7th minute with an assist from Andrea Montavani. Milan slowly began to work their way back into the match and dominated possession. Chievo was forced to play more defensive but would still create chances.
Milan several shots in the first half but wouldn’t find the equalizer. Chievo Verona led 1-0 and was in good position to earn at least one point if not all three.
AC Milan came out with most of the possession in the second half but couldn’t convert that into many great scoring chances.
Chievo held strong defensively and was still lead 1-0 heading into the final 10 minutes of the match. Milan needed a player to step up and make a play. The loss of a few players, specifically Kaka in the transfer window, were definitely noticable in the match.
Ronaldinho started the match and played into most of the second half but still hasn’t seem to found his form of past years. Finally, in the 81st minute, Milan scored to tie the match. It was off a free kick and headed into the back of the net by Alessandro Nesta.
Milan kept pushing and in stoppage time would find the next goal. A corner kick was sent to the far post in the second minute of stoppage time where Nesta once again headed it past the goalkeeper. AC Milan led 2-1 with three minutes of stoppage time left.
Chievo was unable to score in the final minutes of stoppage time as Milan got a much needed win on the two goals from Nesta late in the second half.
