England cruises past Belarus 3-0 – Video Highlights
England played an average match as they were never really pushed by Belarus. It was hardly the team’s best performance but that was expected after they’d already qualified. Belarus never really threatened but didn’t keep the match within reach until late in the second half.
Peter Crouch started off the scoring for England with a 4th minute goal. Crouch was a recipient of a pass into the box and finished it for the goal. The next goal wouldn’t come until the second half. David Beckham came on as a second half substitute and immediately made an impact. On a corner kick, he passed it short to Shaun Wright-Phillips who took a good first touch and scored on a shot from the edge of the box.
The goal came in the 59th minute but should have saved by the Belarus goalkeeper, Yuri Zhehnov. England picked it up in the second half after a very average first as they’d add one more goal. Crouch would score his second as he picked up a rebound off a Carlton Cole shot in the 76th minute. England almost added few more goals as James Milner hit the post on a shot.
The match ended at 3-0 for England.
