Ukraine v England Match Preview and Prediction – UEFA WCQ – Saturday, October 10, 2009
England has already qualified but the Ukraine is in contention for 2nd place in the group. They are currently two points behind Croatia for 2nd but have a match in hand. While England don’t have anything to play for they will want to continue their great form and keep momentum for next summer.
The England roster is captained by defender John Terry who headlines a solid defense. The midfield is also very strong with Steven Gerrard, Frank Lampard, and the veteran David Beckham. Ukraine has most of its players from the local domestic league including captain Andriy Shevchenko. England won the previous match at Wembley 2-1.
Prediction
So, can the Ukraine win and move into 2nd place in Group 6? Will England continue their perfect record? England have not faltered during qualification and Saturday should be no different. Ukraine will have the home advantage but Fabio Capello has England in terrific form. Wayne Rooney is arguably the best striker in the world right now and should lead his team to victory. England will win 1-0.
