Mike Grella (ST) – Leeds United – beat Oldham Athletic 2-0 – 1 goal
Grella is a regular second half substitute for Leeds and came on in the 86th minute in Saturday’s match. With Leeds up 1-0, the American striker scored in the 90th minute to seal the victory. It was a shot to the upper left corner from the left wing inside the box. Leeds advances to the second round of the FA Cup with the win. The club is leading the English League One and in good position to get promotion to to the Championship.
Brad Friedel (GK) – Aston Villa – beat Bolton 5-1 – 5 saves
Friedel remains steady as goalkeeper for Villa who are surging in the EPL. With the win on Saturday, they are now 5th in the league table. The American goalkeeper has 3 clean sheets and 41 saves in 11 EPL games for Aston Villa this season. He is now the record holder for the most consecutive Premier League appearances with 200.
DaMarcus Beasely (MF) – Rangers – beat St Mirren 2-1
Beasley had struggled to get playing time for Rangers this year but played the entire second half in their 2-1 win on Saturday. He had two shots in the match but neither were on goal. The American has not been a part of the national team and could be transferring in the winter window to a club where we can get regular playing time.
Michael Bradley (MF) – Borussia Monchengladbach – 0-0 draw with Stuttgart
Bradley played the full match for Monchengladbach as they played a scoreless draw on Saturday. He had no shots on goal in the match as the club is three points about the relegation zone. After last season’s struggle to avoid relegation, it appears to be no different this season. Bradley remains a consistent starter and his future with the club depends on whether they will remain in the Bundesliga.
Jeremiah White (MF) – AGF Aarhus – draw with Koge 1-1
White played 75 minutes for AGF as they had a 1-0 lead until conceding an own goal late in the match. Jeremiah has struggled this season and has yet to score a goal through 13 matches.
Benny Feilhaber (MF) – AGF Aarhus – draw with Koge 1-1
Feilhaber played the full match for AGF alongside fellow american White in their 1-1 draw. Benny continues to start regularly for AGF and is likely to be included in the National Team for next summer’s World Cup Finals. He has played in larger leagues and could benefit from a transfer in the winter.
