Barcelona had the home crowd and set the tone early with a goal in the 10th minute. It came off a corner kick where Pique volleyed it back into the net. The Inter defense was nowhere to be found on the set piece and Barcelona took advantage. The skill of Barcelona would prove to be too much for Inter Milan throughout the match.
Later in the first half, a cross was sent in the box to Pedro who volleyed it into goal to give his club a 2-0 lead. It came in the 26th minute and Inter goalkeeper Julio Cesar got a hand on it but not enough to make the save. Inter Milan failed to threaten the Barcelona defense with any consistency.
The second half was uneventful as neither team scored and Barcelona held on for the 2-0 win.
