Here’s a recap of the match.
Slovenia beats Russia 1-0 (2-2 on aggregate, away goals)
Slovenia was down 1-2 heading into the second leg but did get an important away goal. Russia was disappointed to concede the goal but could make up for it in the second leg. The home side, Slovenia, would take the lead late in the first half with a 44th minute goal from Zlatko Dedic. The first half ended at 1-0 for Slovenia.
Russia was not able to find a goal in the second half and would be knocked out due to away goals. It was a disappointing result but credit goes to Slovenia who played a solid match. They were able to hold off a Russian attack and will now be traveling to South Africa next summer.

Slovenia played much better, and deserved to win without any doubt. Russians kinda got together in the second half, but Slovenians clearly had the greater desire to win. Though they played on a small stadium he fans were incredible, and in my opinion they made all the diference, it must have been loud as in a rock concert over there. I feel bad for Russians, they’ve seen red two times in the second half. The first time it was a clear, the goalkeeper had the ball under control and recived a kick, while in the second, I don’t really know what happened, but anyway it was too late to change anything.
Small Slovenia had won agaist mighty Russia,
I like it!!!
Keep on the good work Slovenia. I hope you’ll do well in SAR.
YESSSSSS! We did it! Slovenia played better game and with bigger heart. All millions and private planes wasn´t enough for Russia.
