FIFA 2010 World Finals Group Stage Predictions: Group G is the Group of Death
The FIFA 2010 World Cup Finals Group Stage Draw has just been released with the tournament to start in June. Who will advance to the knockout stage out of the group stage? It’s hard to predict who will advance but here’s a list of predictions for the group stage. In most groups, the favorites (seeded teams) should advance fairly easily but there will likely be a few surprises. Here’s a list of the groups along with predictions of who will advance.
Group A: South Africa, Mexico, Uruguay, France
Prediction – France wins group, Mexico gets second
Group B: Argentina, Nigeria, Korea Republic, Greece
Prediction – Argentina wins group, Nigeria gets second
Group C: England, USA, Algeria, Slovenia
Prediction – England wins group, USA gets second
Group D: Germany, Australia, Serbia, Ghana
Prediction – Serbia wins group, Germany gets second
Group E: Netherlands, Denmark, Japan, Cameroon
Prediction – Netherlands wins group, Cameroon gets second
Group F: Italy, Paraguay, New Zealand, Slovakia
Prediction – Italy wins group, Paraguay gets second
Group G: Brazil, Korea DPR, Côte d’Ivoire (Ivory Coast), Portugal
Prediction – Brazil wins group, Ivory Coast gets second
Group H: Spain, Switzerland, Honduras, Chile
