Fulham interested in DaMarcus Beasley for winter transfer window

460beasleychrisclarkpaAmerican DaMarcus Beasley is looking to leave Scottish Premier League club Rangers as he’s struggled to get consistent playing time. Beasley has had an up and down career in Europe and was dropped from the USA team this past summer. If he wants to have a chance at making the roster for South Africa, he must have be playing regularly for a club in one of the top European leagues.

Beasley has stated his frustration and has suggested a move back to Holland (Eredivisie) or Spain (La Liga). Another possible destination could be in England where this week Fulham is showing interested in signing the winger. It might not be the best fit for Beasley who will find it tough to break into the starting line-up ahead of Damien Duff.

What do you think? Should Beasley move to Fulham where fellow Americans Clint Dempsey and Eddie Johnson are or is this not a good fit? Share your comments at the bottom of the page.

Rangers midfielder DaMarcus Beasley could soon be on the way out of Ibrox after Fulham expressed an interest in the American international. Now, according to reports in the Daily Mirror, Craven Cottage boss Roy Hodgson is interested in boosting his wide options and is considering the want-away winger as a cheap option in the January transfer window.

The 27-year-old has struggled to secure a place in Walter Smith’s Rangers team this season and has admitted he wants to secure first team football ahead of the America’s World Cup campaign.

Beasley already has Premier League experience thanks to a brief spell with Manchester City from PSV Eindhoven. He failed to impress then, but went on to join Rangers for £700,000 in 2007.

But a move to Fulham could mean Beasley might once again find himself playing second fiddle in a squad thanks to the sparkling performances of  summer signing Damien Duff.

Beasley, who started against Sevilla in last night’s Champions League match, spoke of his desire to leave Rangers this week, saying he was frustrated at Ibrox.

“I’m looking to move because I want to play. It’s not that I’m not happy with the club, I just want to play,” said Beasley.

“I’m only 27 and I feel like I have another six, seven or even eight years left. My options are open. It might be a move back to Holland or maybe Spain.”

One Response to Fulham interested in DaMarcus Beasley for winter transfer window

  1. Fulham should buy Damarcus Beasley because they are weak in their midfield. This will also improve their chemistry and not reach relegation.
