David Beckham has had an immediate impact for AC Milan as they are starting to hit their stride and closing the gap with Inter Milan (Internazionale) at the top of the Italian Serie A Table. The Englishman has been able to provide a strong presence in the midfield and is likely going to be included in the England roster for South Africa.
On Sunday, AC Milan defeated Siena 4-0 and are showing signs they could challenge for the Serie A title and are still alive in the UEFA Champions League. Perhaps Beckham’s best quality for Milan is the ability to make his teammates better with his work rate, professionalism, and confidence. The best example is Ronaldinho, who is starting to find his form of past years and score two goals in the Siena match.
Speculation has been brought up again whether Beckham will leave the Los Angeles Galaxy and finish his career with Milan or even retire after this summer’s world cup. Beckham has stated publicly he intends to finish his final two years on his Galaxy contract but this is only a verbal committment.
Either way, Beckham is continuing to show that he’s still a world class player and able to be one of the best at free kicks and crosses.
