Eddie Johnson scores first goal for Aris FC in the Greek Super League – Sunday, January 31, 2010

American Eddie Johnson who was with English Premier League side Fulham recently went on loan to Greek side Aris FC. He was joined by fellow American Freddy Adu as both were not getting regular playing time in their clubs. Both have already played a few games and getting more playing time than they had in their previous clubs.

On Sunday, January 31, 2010, Aris FC took on FC Xanthi and lost 1-2 but it wasn’t all bad news. American Eddie Johnson came on in the 70th minute and scored in stoppage time. Video of the goal can be found here.

He made a nice run and received a long ball that he controlled well, dribbled past the goalkeeper and scored the goal. This is great news for USA fans as Johnson has shown in the past he has potential to produce quality as a striker. With injuries a possibility, he could be needed in South Africa.
