Fulham had a terrible showing in the first half as Stoke City would score three goals and held on for a victory at home. The three goals came from Tuncay Sanli (12th minute), Abdoulaye Faye (34th minute), and Mamady Sidibe (37th minute). Stoke were clearly the better team and were in full control heading into the start of the second half.
Fulham would fight back in the last 45 minutes and cut the lead to 1-3 as Damien Duff scored in the 61st minute. The London side would continue to get chances but had trouble finding the final pass in the final third to level the match. In the 85th minute, Clint Dempsey would make it 2-3 as he scored on a great shot that just went it under the crossbar. The momentum was with Fulham for most of the second half.
The score remained 3-2 for Stoke City with five minutes of stoppage time to play. Fulham would continue to push for the equalizer but couldn’t find it as Stoke held on for the three points.
