FC Barcelona looked to remain top of the Spanish Primera Division (La Liga) table with a trip to face Almeria. Barcelona have led most of the season but Real Madrid remain close behind. Almeria 2-2 FC Barcelona – Video Highlights

An own goal would be the difference between a win and a draw as the match ended in a 2-2 draw.

Barcelona never led the match and Almeria played inspired football at home. They would grab the lead in the 12th minute as Dimingo scored. Barcelona came back with a goal from Messi to level it at 1-1 by halftime.

Despite dominating possession and chances, Barcelona failed to take the lead. They would go down again as Carlos Puyol conceded an own goal in the 57th minute. Messi would once again come to the rescue with a goal in the 66th minute to salvage a draw. Before the Messi goal, Ibrahimovic would earn a red card in the 60th minute which hurt Barca’s chances to score late in the match.

The win puts their lead over Real Madrid at two (at this time they are still playing Sevilla) points.
