Newcastle United hosted Nottingham Forest with a chance to extend their lead at the top of the English Championship table.
Heading into the match they are were one point ahead of 2nd place West Bromwich Albion and on their way to getting back to the Premier League. Nottingham Forest are also in contention for promotion as they are in 3rd place with 70 points but nine back of 2nd place WBA.

Newcastle kept their undefeated record at St James’ Park in tact with a solid 2-0 win on Monday night.
The goals would come in the last 20 minutes of the match as Shola Ameobi scored in the 71st minute and Sanchez Jose Enrique added another in the 90th minute.
The win puts Newcastle one more step closer to playing in the EPL next season while Nottingham will likely have to go through the promotion play-offs to make it into the Premiership.
