EJ scores two goals for Aris FC, Adu gets an assist – Video Highlights

EJ scored the first goal on a header from fellow American Freddy Adu (who played most of the match). It was a nice move from Adu to get space from his defender to send the cross into the box for Johnson’s header. The second goal was a result of a bad back pass from the Olympiacos defense that Johnson intercepted and scored.

This is great news for Johnson’s World Cup chances which are improving with the USA team lacking depth in the forward position. Aris won the match 2-0 and are off to a good start in their quest for Champions League football next season.

Adu’s contributions should be recognized as well and he’s playing regularly and could get an invite to the National Team camp. While he’s not at the level some though he would be at this point in his career, Adu provides an ability of creativity and dynamic play-making that is not common. The question is where he can show this on a regular basis and perform on the international stage.
