Liverpool still had slim hopes of Champions League football for next season but needed a win at Burnley.
The two teams met at the Turf Moor on Sunday, April 25, 2010. Burnley have all but been relegated while Liverpool is in one of the Europa League spots before the match. A win for Liverpool would move them within two points of 4th place.

Liverpool dominated the match with a 4-0 win on Sunday afternoon at Burnley.
All the goals came in the second half as Steven Gerrard had two, Maxi Rodriguez scored one, and Ryan Babel scored the final match. Gerrard’s goal came in the 52nd minute and 59th minute, Rodriguez’s came in the 74th minute, and Babel’s was in the 90th minute.
Burnley looked poor and probably because of their recent relegation to the Championship next season. Liverpool will play a midweek match on Thursday with the second leg of the UEFA Europa League semifinals.
