The French Cup or Coupe de France had its final on Saturday, May 1, 2010 with AS Monaco taking on Paris St-Germain. AS Monaco would be aiming for their sixth French Cup title while Paris St-Germain would be going for their eight title. The two teams are in the top four of most successful clubs in the competition. The final was place at the Stade de France in Paris.

Paris St-Germain won their eight Coupe de France with a 1-0 win that needed extra time.

The winning goal came from PSG’s Guillaume Haorau in the 107th minute. Haorau scored when a shot was saved by the goalkeeper and rebounded to him in the box. He headed it into the open net which proved to be the match winner.

Monaco was unable to find a goal in the remaining minutes of extra time.

PSG, now with 8 French Cups, trails Marseille for the overall lead with 10.
