The English Championship began its promotion playoffs with the a first leg match between Blackpool and Nottingham Forest on Saturday, May 8, 2010.
Blackpool would get a 2-1 win at home after conceding an early goal to Nottingham Forest.
The visitors took an early lead on a Chris Cohen 13th minute goal but couldn’t hold onto it. Blackpool came back with a goal from Keith Southern in the 26th minute to level the match.
With the match still tied early in the second half, a penalty converted by Charlie Adam would give Blackpool the lead. It would end at 2-1 for the home side and both teams with a decent shot to advance to the final.
