Cameroon would be in danger of being the first African team to be eliminated from the tournament if they lost on Saturday against Denmark. Both teams needed at least a draw to remain in contention to move into the next round. The match was the late kickoff of the day which was at 8:30 PM local South African time.

It was a very wide open match but Cameroon failed to get a result and saw their knockout stage chances come to an end.

Cameroon would take a lead in the 10th minute with a Samuel Eto’o goal but couldn’t remain solid defensively. Denmark would score the next two goals with one from Nicklas Bendtner in the 33rd minute and Dennis Rommedahl in the 61st minute.

Both teams had several chances and there easily could have been 2 or 3 more goals scored in the match. Denmark will play their final group stage match against Japan while Cameroon will face the Netherlands.
