Major League Soccer has returned since its 2010 World Cup break and the Philadelphia Union played their first match at the new PPL Park. They would host the Seattle Sounders FC who have been inconsistent in their second season in MLS.

Philadelphia Union 3-1 Seattle Sounders FC Recap

The Union would get their first win in PPL Park’s inaugural match with three second half goals.

Seattle led at halftime 0-1 which was against the run of play but Philadelphia would soon take control of the match. The goal for the Sounders was from Pat Noonan in the 44th minute. The goals for the Union were from Sebastian Le Toux in the 53rd minute, Fred in the 79th minute, and Danny Mwanga in the 84th minute.

The match could have been much closer as Seattle had a penalty kick in the 59th minute but it was saved. That would have made it 1-2 but the miss allowed the Union to take control with the two goals in the final 11 minutes.
