Slovenia v England Preview
It’s a huge match for England as they need to beat Slovenia to get out of the group stage. They have disappointed in their first two matches and received a lot of criticism in the UK press. On the other hand, Slovenia have impressed with a win and a draw in their two matches. Their two results have them at four points and they can win the group with a win against England.
Despite England struggling in their first two matches, they are still the overwhelming favorite in this match or at least according to the oddsmakers. On paper, England have a roster of top class players but haven’t been able to find the chemistry on the pitch. It’s now down to their last chance and they need to find a way to put it together.
Slovenia are a team that will respect England but they won’t fear them. They have shown the ability to score goals and play with confidence. If they lose the match, there’s a good chance they won’t go onto the next round so they know at least a draw is necessary.
While their form from the first two matches won’t inspire confidence, England should find a way to get a win. It probably won’t be convincing or a win by several goals but will be just enough to get into the next round.
Betting Odds
Slovenia win – 8/1
Draw – 11/4
England win – 4/9
Slovenia v England Prediction
