Inter Milan are coming off their best season ever as they won the Coppa Italia, UEFA Champions League, and the Serie A title. Manager Jose Mourinho is gone and former Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez now heads the Italian side. They are opening their pre-season with this tour of the USA.
Manchester City continue to spend lots of money in the transfer window but have yet to find the success. They narrowly missed out on the last UEFA Champions League spot but have improved their squad this summer. On the pre-season tour in the USA, Man City have not performed well and yet to show any great form. They recently lost to the New York Red Bulls and to Portuguese side Sporting Lisbon during the New York Football Challenge.
This match will be a chance for Benitez to start shaping his team ahead of the Serie A season. He has a lot of expectations after the success by Mourinho but it will be extremely difficult to replicate the 2009-10 season. They are slightly favored in this match.
Even though Man City has played more matches in the last week, their form has been poor. Inter Milan have a solid roster and should get the win, even though it’s their first of the pre-season.
