The defending Euro champions, Spain, begin their qualification for Euro 2012 with a match against Liechtenstein. Spain were heavily favored heading into the match and anything less than a win would be very surprising.

Spain would dominated Liechtenstein with two goals apiece from Fernando Torres and David Villa.

The goals for Torres were scored in the 19th minute and 54th minute while Villa’s were in the 27th minute and 62nd minute. It was a clear mismatch from the start as Spain had 10 shots on goal compared to Liechtenstein’s 1.

The win puts Spain on track to win their group and try to defend the Euro title. Liechtenstein are not expected to qualify for the tournament and will have to aim for a second place spot to go into the play-offs.
