It was a solid performance from the United States but in the end they failed to overcome an early goal by Paraguay.
Unlike Saturday’s friendly against Argentina, the USA were the team with more possession and chances. Despite being the more dominant team, Paraguay would strike first with a 18th goal by Oscar Cardoza.
The Americans responded well with lots of pressure but struggled to finish any of their chances. Some of the best chances came late in the second half when Landon Donovan missed shot from close range and Michael Bradley had a shot saved by a diving goalkeeper.
Both sides are gearing up for tournaments in the summer with the USA playing in the Gold Cup and Paraguay in the Copa America.
