“If you have the possibility to invite Real Madrid to your Club it is great for everyone – the fans, the players, for me as a coach and the rest of the coaching team.

“To go up against one of the best football clubs in the world will be great on Saturday.

“I had a phone call from an agent many months ago, who asked if we would be interested in playing Real Madrid and as soon as i spoke to the owners and they agreed to it. They’re one of the best football teams in the world and to have them here in front of a sold-out crowd is perfect.”

“I’m not surprised (by the owners’ investment), but I’m delighted that everything they have said they have done. When I signed for this club in October last season, the owners told me they wanted to take Leicester City to the Premier League and to stay there.

“They have been brilliant in everything they’ve been doing and I think they will go on doing this as long as they have the Club. It’s a long-term project and they want to be in the Premier League.

“The Club has worked very hard during the summer to try to get better players than we had last year, and players with more experience, which will be important next season.

“It might turn out that there will be more before the season starts.”

“We’re not going to let them walk all over us, because this is our home and we want to make history here.

“Every home game has to be a must-win game, starting with Real Madrid. Every team that comes to King Power Stadium – we have to try to take them.”

“This was a good decision to come here because I’m under an experienced coach, who I think can improve my game. I’m glad to be playing under him and hopefully he can polish me into the player I want to be.
