Chelsea opened the Champions League with a win at home behind goals from David Luiz and Juan Mata.
It wasn’t a dominating performance from Chelsea as the match was scoreless until the 67th minute. The first goal was by David Luiz who scored with a shot from just inside the 18 yard box. Leverkusen did have chances throughout the match but overall Chelsea were the stronger side. The second goal would come in the 90th minute as Fernando Torres dribble towards goal and passed to Juan Mata who easily scored.
Chelsea will next face Manchester United in the EPL on Sunday while Bayer Leverkusen plays FC Cologne in the Bundesliga.
