Bolton Wanderers 3-1 Liverpool Recap

Bolton moved out of the relegation zone with a strong 3-1 win at the Reebok Stadium.

It was a fast start for Bolton who took the lead with a 3rd minute Mark Davies goal. The lead was doubled in the 29th minute with a Nigel Reo-Coker goal. Liverpool would counter with a 36th minute Craig Bellamy goal but not get any closer. Bolton would extend their lead early in the second half as Gretar Rafn Steinsson made it 3-1 in the 50th minute.

Liverpool are still within reach for a spot in Europe but have been inconsistent this season. They are winless in their last three matches and only scored on goal (conceded 6). Bolton have won their last two of three league matches and now in 17th place. They are still far from out of the relegation battle but have been much improved in 2012.

Both teams will play in the FA Cup 4th round next weekend with Liverpool facing Manchester United and Bolton plays Swansea. Liverpool will play a midweek fixture as they host Man City in the English Carling Cup semifinals 2nd leg.
