UEFA Power Rankings – 13 February 2012
Below are my weekly power rankings for the top (8) clubs teams in UEFA. These rankings are a combination of their play in domestic and UEFA competitions.
In this week’s rankings, Manchester City move up to 2nd place as Barcelona continues to struggle in La Liga. The other team to drop in the rankings is Juventus who are now 2nd in the Serie A. The full rankings as of February 13, 2012.
- Real Madrid - They are ten points clear in La Liga and have a great chance to make a deep run in the Champions League. Only injuries could derail a possible double this season.
- Manchester City - The EPL leaders have won five of their last six and currently have a two point lead.
- FC Barcelona - Their struggles in La Liga could actually be a good thing. Barcelona can focus most of their attention the Champions League where they remain the favorites.
- Manchester United - Despite being -9 in goal difference to Man City, the Red Devils remain within striking distance. Both Manchester sides are favorites to make it to the Europa League final.
- Bayern Munich – They are still in contention for a treble and just two points back of leaders Borussia Dortmund.
- AC Milan - The Rossoneri are now top of the Serie A table and still alive in the Italian Cup (semifinals).
- Borussia Dortmund - The Bundesliga leaders have won their last five league matches.
- Juventus - A scoreless draw on the weekend dropped them to 2nd place but they are still unbeaten (12-9-0).
Teams just missing the rankings - Paris Saint-Germain, Benfica, Tottenham Hotspur, Udinese, Valencia
