It’s another busy weekend of fixtures across the world but which ones are worth watching? Below is my list of the important matches worth viewing for Saturday, March 10, 2012.
Matches in Europe are GMT or British time while everything else is in USA EST (Eastern).
English Premier League
Chelsea v Stoke City (1500 GMT) – Chelsea need a result to keep pace with Arsenal for the last Champions League spot while Stoke will likely be playing for a scoreless draw.
Everton v Tottenham (17:30 GMT) – The Toffees are very good form while Spurs are starting to fade. Tottenham need a result to keep some distance between them and 4th place Arsenal.
Major League Soccer
Los Angeles Galaxy v Real Salt Lake (10:30 PM EST) – The season opener should be a great match between two of the top teams in MLS.
Spanish Primera Division (La Liga)
Real Betis v Real Madrid (21:00 GMT) – Real Madrid are inching closer towards clinching La Liga and Cristiano Ronaldo is battling Lionel Messi for the Pichichi trophy.
German Bundesliga
Bayern Munich v Hoffenheim (14:30 GMT) – Bayern need a victory to keep their title hopes alive while Hoffenheim still have an outside chance at a Europa League spot.
Augsburg v Borussia Dortmund (17:30 GMT) – Bundesliga leaders Borussia Dortmund can keep their lead to at least seven points with a win while Augsburg are battling relegation.
