Below are the standings for the CONMEBOL (South America) region of 2014 World Cup Qualifying. The top four teams will qualify for the tournament while the fifth place team will play a country from the AFC region in a playoff. Brazil, who are the host country, will not participate in qualifying.

Spain 3-2 Chile Recap

It was a heated friendly match as Spain edged Chile with three second half goals.

Chile started out strong as Mauricio Isla made it 1-0 in the 11th minute and Eduardo Vargas doubled the lead in the 20th minute. In the second half, Spain would make several substitutions and make a comeback. Andres Iniesta scored in the 55th minute and Cesc Fabregas leveled the match in the 71st minute. Fabregas would cap the comeback in stoppage time as he missed a penalty kick but was there to convert the rebound.

Spain will return to Euro 2012 Qualifying on Tuesday while Chile plays Mexico in a friendly on Sunday.

Germany defeated Brazil 3-2 in an international friendly on Wednesday, August 10, 2011.

Germany 3-2 Brazil Recap

Germany scored three second half goals to edge Brazil in a friendly match.

Neither team scored in the first half but there would be five in the second half. Germany took a 2-0 lead with a 61st minute penalty by Bastian Schweinsteiger and 67th minute Mario Gotze. Robinho cut the lead in half for Brazil with a 72nd minute penalty but Germany extended their lead with an 80th minute Andre Schurrle goal.

Brazil would once again get back within one goal with a 90th minute Neymar but the match ended a few moments later.

Germany will return to UEFA Euro 2012 Qualifying next month while Brazil play several friendlies in the upcoming months.

The Gunners were in total of the match early but couldn’t hold onto it in the second half.

With several changes made at halftime, it was a different second half with Boca Juniors leveling the match. Arsenal’s goals were scored by Robin Van Persie in the 29th minute and Aaron Ramsey in the 46th minute while Boca’s were from Viatri in the 68th minute and 71st minute.
